How Lucky I Truly Am.

As I made my bed this morning, I thought of those without a place to sleep. As I brewed a cup of coffee, my thoughts turned to those without a warm drink to start their day. As I chose what to wear based on the dreary weather, those without warm clothing came to mind.

As I sat in my home and listened to the rain outside, I thought of those without shelter from the elements. As I read a book and then and wrote in my journal, my mind wandered to those without outlets to release their thoughts.

As kids emerged from their slumber with bleary eyes and messy hair, my heart ached for parents who have lost their children. As I considered what to eat for breakfast, I couldn’t help but think of those who have gone days without a meal.

As I eagerly look forward to seeing close friends tonight, thoughts of those who feel as though they are alone flood my mind.

As I count my blessings this morning, I can’t help but think about how lucky I truly am, & how so many would give anything for all I take for granted.
